RideMasters USA also offers a one-day advanced motorcycle skills class using the same techniques that a skilled motor officer uses on a daily basis. We will go over sequentially, various concepts and exercises and give you the tools to operate your motorcycle in a much more confident manner. We find many riders although, endorsed to ride a motorcycle, rarely practice any scenario-based braking techniques and other skills to any level of proficiency in a real-world street or highway riding speeds you the operator normally operate at.
Below are some of the topics that will be addressed:
Friction Zone, and the relationship of the throttle, clutch, and rear brake
T-Clock
Posture, Head, Eyes
Raising a downed motorcycle, walking a motorcycle
Head and Eyes Concepts
Cone Courses
Braking Skill Sets, Collision Avoidance
Curve Negotiations
Each rider is required to have a motorcycle endorsement, a current registration, and current insurance card for their motorcycle. They need to bring the following to class:
Over the ankle boots
Eye protection, sunglasses or clear eyes
Helmet
Gloves-full fingered
Leather or armor riding jacket
Rain gear
The classes start promptly at 8 am and run approximately 4-5 hours. There will be a brief classroom at the start of the day and again at the end of the day. Most of the day will be spent on your motorcycle. Every exercise, there will be an explanation and a demonstration so the student has a full understanding of the concept being conveyed. Please ask any questions if you do not fully understand the exercise prior to you attempting it.
